Steps to Complete Six Pillar Essay
Day 1: For the first 10 minutes of class, choose two pillars from the six listed above and write one good-sized paragraph apiece about each one. When finished, choose the one you feel is the "best" or was the easiest to write.
Take your chosen pillar and make a mind map on one of the following web tools to brainstorm ideas of things to include in your essay. I have started an example on Popplet for you to use as a guide below. You can use any brainstorming tool you want, though. (Pages drawing, a chart on Google Docs, a piece of notebook paper. The brainstorming is the important part.)
Popplet - Do not use Safari! (Popplet does not like Safari.)

Day 2: Discuss interesting ways to begin your essay that catch the reader's attention. Remember, your essay is only supposed to be one page long (either single or double spaced,) so make sure you are making every word count.

Essay Structure:

Section 2: Explain how you have demonstrated the pillar of your choice during your high school career (in and out of school)
Section 3: Explain how you will demonstrate the pillar of your choice in the near future (while in college, if applicable, and as a productive member of society.)
Section 4: Conclusion Paragraph where you will call your audience to action by explaining how your qualities (especially the pillar you have chosen) make you an exemplary candidate for scholarships from Northwood-Kensett.

By Friday, 2/4/22 @ Midnight you should have...
1. Completed your SMART goal & long term action plan
2. Completed your Job Application in .PDF format w/ digital signature
3. Completed your Senior Résumé

5. Please submit a rough draft of your 6 Pillar Scholarship Essay using Google Classroom by 12:00PM on Thursday, 2/10
