Now that you have a completed résumé, you need to write a letter of application to accompany it.
Assume that you are applying the job you have now,
OR for a new, local summer job or internship that interests you.
Since this is business correspondence, you should format your letter like a proper business letter that we discussed Monday.

- Tell how you found out about the job opening
- Briefly summarize why you are qualified for the job
- Summary of qualifications (highlight your credentials, but don’t copy the resume word-for-word)
- Add information about your character, work habits, people skills, and any other relevant information not mentioned in the resume
- Education background
- Appropriate work experience
- Skills related to the job
- Refer to your enclosed resume
- Ask for an interview
- Tell how and when you can be reached by either phone or email.
